Cello
Born in Buenos Aires in 1972,he began studying cello at the age of 7 under the guidance of Nicolas Finoli. At 13 he became principal cello of the National Radio Youth Orchestra of Argentina and at 17 he moved to Europe. He graduated at the Conservatory of Verona, with honors, under the guidance of Mario Finotti. In the meantime (1995-2000) he attended a 5-year-long masterclass with Mario Brunello, and later attended masterclasses with Stanimir Todorov, Alberto Lysy and Radu Adulescu. He is the winner of important international awards (Rovere d’Oro, Moncalieri, Castelfranco) and has played as principal and solo cello for various Italian chamber orchestras (Pegasus Chamber Orchestra, Orchestra of Padua and Veneto and others). Since 2006 he has been the principal and solo cello of I Virtuosi Italiani orchestra, with whom he has performed on important international stages and alongside artists such as Ramin Bahrami, Lilya Zilberstein, Mischa Maisky, Ilya Grubert, Natalia Gutman, Pavel Berman, Krysztof Penderecki, Ludovico Einaudi, Gautier Capuçon, Paolo Fresu, Cesare Picco and Massimo Quarta.
He has recorded for several important record companies such as Brilliant, Naxos, Carish, in particular regarding the Baroque repertoire. Besides the activity as a classical musician, he also deals with tango (he is one of the founders of the Tango X 3 trio, dedicated to the repertoire of Argentine tango and of Astor Piazzolla), contemporary and experimental music, also for theatre and cinema, and musical improvisation. Finally, he deals with musical education; he has been following for years projects for youth orchestras in high schools in Verona.
