FOSCO BERTOLI

President

Fosco Bertoli has worked for many years in the commercial sector with businesses in computers and office equipment, stationery, bookstores and sport.

Now retired, he is a member of the Misericordia of Castelvecchio Pascoli, Vice President of the Comercial Centro of Castelnuovo in the Garfagnana, and Vice President of the Bank del Monte of Lucca Foundation.

CLAUDIO RONI

Honorary President

Claudio, son of Luigi Roni, felt compelled to contribute to the artistic legacy that his father left to his country and its people, so that it is not lost.The reality, that of “Il Serchio delle Muse”, built with the work of many years of passion, dedication and love.

Although he never embarked on a career as an opera singer, Claudio has dedicated many years of his life to singing and has followed his father in various stages of his career, thus having the opportunity to attend rehearsals and the staging of numerous shows in some of the most important theaters in the world. He has participated in masterclasses and had the privilege of studying under the guidance of established singers, including his father. He graduated from the Academy of High Specialization for opera singers of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.

IMOGEN MCNAMARA

Vice President

Imogen McNamara is a clinical and organisational psychologist. For many years she was a consultant to both small and large organisations assisting them with their development. She designed and implemented projects, and then evaluated them. She wrote and conducted training programs for staff and wrote and conducted leadership programs. She trained judges, barristers and lawyers for the Family Court at a national level.

A writer and a musician, she has worked with Serchio delle Muse for 13 years doing publicity.

GIUSEPPE LUCCHESI

Financial Director

Dr. Giuseppe Lucchesi has a degree in economic science with the focus on business management . For more than 35 years he has worked as a professional consultant to business concerns, as an auditor and consultant for workers and taxation.

He was elected to the committee for Serchio delle Muse for his professional experience and for his passion for music.

MATTEO MARCALLI

Adviser

Matteo Marcalli has a passion for music, which started with playing in a band which then led to him studying at the High school for music, then to graduate in the French horn at the Institute superior for musical studies, ‘L.Boccheini’. He has collaborated with theatres and orchestras at both a national and international level, with orchestras in America, France, England and Switzerland.In Italy he has worked with the orchestra of the Florence Maggio Musicale, the orchestra for the Puccini festival, and as a soloist with the orchestra ISSM Bocherini, for the sinfonia concert of Mozart He took first place in the competition for conservatories from Tuscany underwritten by the Rotary Club from Montaperti, Castelnuovo,and Beradenga. As a teacher for music courses and nearby Institutes and localities. He is a supplementary teacher in French Horn and the Music High school of Lucca, where he had been a student.

At an artistic level, he is occupied with spreading awareness of music, creating, writing and directing and with music for original operas like Bianca Neve, collaborating with the artistic assistance of events with I’SSM.

MASTER UGO MENCONI

Adviser

Ugo Menconi studied piano as a privately for five years. He obtained a diploma in theory and solfeggio in 1990 at the G. Puccini conservatory in La Spezia. From 2008 to 2010 he sang in the Apuan Alps Choir of Pieve Fosciana and in the Choir of the Cathedral of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana. From September 2010 he created and directed a new choral group, the Voci del Serchio Choir of Castelnuovo di Garfagnana, a 4 voice a cappella formation with a repertoire based on mountain songs and popular inspiration, enjoying good public success in the many releases made during the years. In 2012 he created the first edition of the Spring Choral Festival "Voci del Serchio" in the splendid setting of the Teatri Alfieri where he had the honour of inviting and singing together with I Crodaioli di Arzignano (VI) directed by the great Bepi De Marzi.

He studied History of Music at the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy in Pisa, historical - musical address under the guidance of Prof. Carolyn Gianturco and taking the Musical Paleography exam with Prof. G. Biagi Ravenni. In October 2011 he attended the course organized by the Tuscan Choir Association for choir directors under the teaching of Maestro Lorenzo Donati. Since 2013 he has undertaken the study of the accordion performing with local folkloric groups of the Lucca area and with the swing / jazz group "The Aristodemo's" from Barga (LU). A great lover and lover of Opera, he has collaborated with the "Il Serchio delle Muse" association since 2015 with the aim of spreading opera concerts and classical music in the Garfagnana valley.

PAOLO RINALDI

Paolo Rinaldi has always had a passion for opera and he started to attend the first concerts organised by Luigi Roni after the flood at Fornovolasco. He then often assisted Marina Mazzanti, who together with maestro Roni, organised the summer concerts, during the early years of Serchio dell Muse. He became an active part of Serchio dell Muse in 2004, and provides valuable assistance at all of the concerts.

MARIA BRUNA CAPRONI

Adviser

Maria Bruni Caproni, graduate of the teacher's Institute G. Pascali of Barga, has worked in Human resources for Kedrion and is now retired. Honorary president and member of the Giovanni Pascoli Foundation, Governor of the Misericordia at Castelveccchio Pascoli and one of the founders of Serchio delle Muse. In conjunction with the Misericordia contributed to the foundation of the "Homage to Pascoli " held every evening on the 10th of August. Elected member of the Serchio delle Muse committee.

Serchio delle Muse has formed a new board of directors with Fosco Bertoli as president. Fosco Bertoli of the Banca del Monte Foundation and vice president of the “Compriamo a Castelnuovo” association was one of the founders of Serchio delle Muse in 2008. The aim is to continue Luigi Roni's work by bringing music, art and culture to the splendid squares of the Garfagnana.
